We know how difficult it is to get pet birds to eat vegetables and so we’ve designed a healthy grain, legume, seed mix-in to entice even the most stubborn birds. 

Alternatively if you have a fussy bird that hates defrosted chop, and you make chop fresh daily. Our chop mix-in is an easy way to incorporate cooked legumes, grains and seed without having to do any cooking! Simply rehydrate, mix with fresh vegetables and serve.

INGREDIENTS 

Ingredients are all cooked and organic unless otherwise stated.

• Chickpeas
• Red lentils
• Pearled barley
• Hulled buckwheat
• Freekah 
• Quinoa
• Adzuki beans
• Wild Rice

Freeze drying retains up to 97% of the original nutritional value of the ingredients, it doesn't change the look or taste of food and has up to a 25 year shelf life if stored correctly.

DIRECTIONS

You can serve our chop mix-in dry or rehydrated. 
We recommend adding 1:2 ratio of warm water to freeze dried chop mix-in if serving rehydrated. Simply mix well, cool and serve.

Please note freeze dried chop mix-in will not expand dramatically after rehydration.

We recommend feeding chop first thing in the morning as this will be when your bird is the hungriest and more likely to try new foods

**Please note net weight is due to freeze dried food weighing as little as 12% of original fresh weight due to the freeze drying process removing about 98% of a food’s water content.

Small birds: 1 tsp
Medium birds: 2 tsp
Large birds: 1 tbs 

**Please note these are only starting guides, you may need to add more or less depending on your bird's appetite.
 
EXPIRATION DATE
We recommend storing in a dark cool place and using within 3 months of opening. Please squeeze the air out and re-seal the bag tightly after each use. Moisture and humidity will increase the rate of spoilage of freeze dried food.

Please make sure you check the food before serving. Any change in appearance, smell or texture may indicate that freeze dried food is spoiled and should not be give to your bird.
